Basketball: Invented by James Naismith in 1891, a Canadian-American gym teacher, this game has evolved as one of the most popular sports worldwide. The National Basketball Association is the frontrunner basketball league.

Volleyball: The game volleyball was invented by William G. Morgan in 1895 who was a YMCA physical education director in Holyoke Massachusetts, USA. The game was developed as a pastime to be played, preferably, indoors.

Tennis: The origin of this game, as per the historians, goes back to 12th century in northern France, where a ball was struck with the palm of the hand. Louis X of France became notable as the first person to start indoor tennis courts.

Cricket: The earliest reference to cricket is during the mid-16th century in Britain. British Empire expanded the game globally and the international matches started in the second half of the 19th century.

Table-Tennis: Table tennis(TT) was invented in Victorian England, where it was played among the upper-class as an after-dinner parlour game. The makeshift versions of TT were developed by British military officers in India around the 1860s or 1870s.

Baseball: The game Baseball was evolved in America from older bat-and-ball games played in England by the mid-18th century. By the late 19th century, baseball was widely recognized as national sport in USA.

Golf: Though the ancient origin of the game is unclear, the modern version of the game originated in Scotland in 15th century. Some historians also suggest the origin of the game to the Roman game of paganica.
